Hi Peter, have you looked into the pro-natal policies of Lee Kuan Yew in Singapore? He did everything he could to increase Singapore birthrates, including all sorts of government incentives and public cajoling, and he failed. Singapore birthrates remain basically the lowest in the world along with Hong Kong.

Sometimes issues are deeper than economics, relating to religion and worldview and outlook. Urban areas are "IQ shredders" which attracts the smartest who have much fewer children than replacement - this is across time and culture...

Personally, I'm much more worried about the ongoing Holocene extinction event (basically the total destruction of the environment) than I am about declining populations not being able to contribute to civilization's economic ponzi schemes pushing forever growth: https://neofeudalreview.substack.com/p/the-sad-skinsuiting-of-the-environmental

It is amazing that we are the only species that has given up on the driving element of evolution, namely propagation of our DNA. Certainly the egalitarian indoctrination that everybody is just as good as the next one and that it is not important if the child is yours plays a role. We are also being told that "just having fun" is a guiding life concept and spirituality or religion is something that only hicks do. The success of your kids used to be your pride in having contributed something good to society, now you are told that you are selfish and "it's a crime to bring kids into this awful world".

Once folks without kids were seen as failures, which they are in an evolutionary sense, now it's the "smart" move.

Since the proliferation and even celebration of "birth control", from the pill to late term abortion, we are now in a position of enjoying natures incentive to have children, namely the sex act, without fulfilling its purpose, which is to have children. On top of that we encourage homosexuality and even celebrate it with parades, which is akin to indulging in food without any nutritional value. The end result is in either case is the same, the body is starved.

How about ending globalist policies that are destroying fertility and even families that already exist? You will never turn around a population back-trend unless you have enough people able to make babies...both men and especially women. We are losing that ability.

I still believe that if we reach some sort of peak population, than it will be lights out as the trip down the other side of the slope will be unstoppable. This is exactly what the anti-human globalists want.

I would never trust ANY government to save humanity as all throughout history they have been trying to destroy it.

If the rinos stay out of the President’s way, optimism will return with Trump’s policies and happy parents make more babies! Few want to bring kids into a difficult, depressing world with little future for them.

There’s a darker side to the story… The Malthusian influence on the Deep State puppeteers. The Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates global depopulationists.

Look at the “Women’s Reproductive Rights” movement, also euphemistically called “Pro-Choice”. You need to see what happens to a fetus in late-term abortions - no choice for the fully-formed and fully-aware baby.

Then, there’s state-sponsored (and encouraged) suicide. In Canada, the euphemism for that is “MAID” (medical assistance in death). However, the politicians need voters and taxpayers, and industry needs low-paid, compliant workers, so western countries increase immigration without requisite control, nor sufficient, supportive infrastructure. (I’m getting depressed, just writing about it…)

Here is the best way to get women to have children and to raise them to become productive citizens: pay them a decent wage for their 24/7 work.

Parents have the hardest, most important job in the world. If you doubt that, look again at the statistics. Women don't want the job of running a home with kids anymore ... they can earn a better living and enjoy life in a different career. Don't you remember how the feminists told us stay-at-home moms were losers?

Parenting is a career and must be respected and revered as the most important role in society that any person can have. Everyone must start talking about parenting with great respect and appreciation, rewording and praising those who have done a good job and turned out healthy, respectful, skills adults.

Everytime I meet a young person who is obviously well brought up, I tell them to thank their mom for making them such wonderful people. Every time I run into a parent doing a good job, I praise their great work for society.

Women must be paid for their work, and hard work it is. Otherwise, they are nothing more than slaves to society. They are baby-sitters, managers, organizers, teachers, cleaners, first responders for everything, and so on after they give birth, having carried the child for 9 months, which is usually a very uncomfortable endeavour.

They are worth at least what the typically Ontario municipal employee is worth: $120,000 per year, plus benefits and a pension.

Oh my, I can hear the pink-haired idiots gasping for air already ...

Fertility is inversely correlated with income.

Paying people to have kids doesn't work.

All good comments and content Peter.

The endless government and elitist idiots fiddling with the procreation dials, will have ZERO effect. In fact, such fiddling will have the opposite effect as every unit of currency that government steals from the productive class to pay for these 'programs', takes resources out of the pockets of people that rely on their labor for their survival, well being and wealth accumulation to ultimately afford ANY children.

Those at the top of the wealth pyramid do not produce additional wealth through effort, rather their ownership of the asset base combined with usury and criminally corrupt liaisons with the 'rule makers', provide them an endless conveyor belt of cash driving their accumulation and consolidation of all planetary wealth. Please don't bring up these multi billionaires as there is not a single one of them that did not either start their business with a government contract, subsidy for market growth, liaison with a rule maker to create favorable conditions for their business at the expense of competition or some other government mandated market creation.

--Think Tesla for example, and their electric cars which would have never become anything more than a luxury item for the wealthy in a minor market scale. ONLY through massive taxpayer funded subsidies for electric car purchases, was the market developed given the cost of the vehicles in the early stages of scaling the business.--

There is no reversing this population trend downward as the majority has nothing, whilst the minority controls everything and rules with an iron fist on anyone that strays out of line.

Please don't mistake my views as being in favor of wealth redistribution or some other sort of commie BS. I started with nothing when I was a teenager growing up on a farm in a town no one has ever heard of. I have built four successful businesses and employed people in one way or another throughout the 53 countries I have worked in so far in my life.

Add in the toxicity of the culture that exists globally today as humanity has turned inwardly in their minds and actions, becoming legions of emotional zombies that crave validation more than they crave purpose. Ladle on the reams of regulation not only on business, taxes and mobility but also on merely existing. People are no longer allowed to simply be left alone as there is always some adorable government or elitist functionary with a bad comb over or pink hair & a bull ring in their nose, who's life mission is to tell other people what to do.

Sprinkle in 245,000,000 people killed wars and government inflicted famine over the last 100 years or so and the current situation where war is front and center to the world improving sociopaths that want more of the same, and you have people saying no thanks.

Finish all this toxicity off with a generous buttering of corruption top to, bottom left to right, front to back of every component of government on the planet where gains are privatized to the donor class whilst the crushing losses are socialized to the normies.

Now we can come to the cherry on the ice cream by consolidating the entirety of global wealth to the hands of the most corrupt, vile and evil crème de la crème whilst they have their loyal bought and paid for minions with taxpayer money force everyone to take a poisonous injection, chop your kid's genitals off, eat bugs and live in a pod.

All the while, that vast majority of people complain, though lack the stomach to do what is actually required to put an end to such toxicity.

Wonderful future to bring children into don't you think?

Bottom line is, any sentient species that exists in a environment that is highly toxic, will inherently choose to preserve itself and it's energy, to survive as long as possible with no thought to who or what comes after their lives are extinguished by natural attrition or death by event. In an environment that is plentiful with opportunity where there exists a surplus of energy in that sentient being, such an individual will observe there are additional resources available in their lives where they can seek a mate and procreate, thus passing on their genetic material to a subsequent life form.

It will not be possible to slow this trend downward without radical change to positive conditions in the living potential for the majority of the population. The problem is the math. The FACT that by the time a distillation process with sufficient purification of resolve within the population takes place, it will be too late.

Until the population is distilled to a remnant of herculean strength / courage / grit, combined with a violently intense willpower and desire to be free and cooperative with other humans, thereby resolving to punish evil with immediacy and finality, there can be no improvement in the environment for procreation. This remnant must also possess a crystal clear understanding of what caused the decline in the first place, and teach those who follow them to not ever let this catastrophe happen again.

Needless to say, the decline will continue to the point where the perpetrators that incubated this toxic environment for procreation, can no longer hide nor exercise power over the population. They will then be dealt with in earnest and the earth will have the dead weeds consumed and green shoots of civilization can begin to rebuild.

There is no escape from this cycle.

There never has been an escape from the cycle.

Dear Peter

Welcome... I was the first person who wrote about this, 25 years ago.

Homo Sapiens Population Is Crashing

Culling The Herd Since 1987

The population of Homo sapiens peaked when we added 87,014,000 in 1987.

Every year since 1987 fewer and fewer people have been added to the population.

And dodgy vaccines that sterilize women ( Kenya leaving the WHO because of this ) irrational climate change fear that stops couples from having kids ( to do the responsible thing for the planet ) and a breakdown of society where families are valued and nurtured( replaced by digital tribalism and promiscuous behaviour with sex as recreation and abortion on tap there to mop up any “accidents” ) it seems almost everything is stacked against children being born. And the open push by people for like Gates, Kerry and other eugenicists should tell you this is all part of the plan

The largest driver behind the declining birth rate is the seismic shift in society’s structure—particularly the evolving roles of women in the workforce, the widespread availability of abortion, and the pervasive access to contraception. These factors have fundamentally reshaped the family dynamic and, in turn, the population growth trajectory. As women increasingly participate in the workforce, the incentives to have children diminish, leading to a demographic decline that will have far-reaching consequences. The intersection of cultural, economic, and technological forces has transformed the very fabric of society, and the result is an increasingly aging population with fewer young people to support it.

INFLATION!!!

One of the MOST evil mechanisms in existence.

There's a huge number of things that we can tie to the loss of population and desire to have kids. But inflation needs to be at the top of the list. Why is it so common to see two income households barely scraping by? Inflation.

"Adjusted for inflation"

Why do we not question that horrendous term?

Why do we have to hear that when comparing prices now to then?

It's monetary rape.

And like Friedman said...ALWAYS caused by Washington.
